Fresh Peach Recipes: What I Made With 20 Pounds of Peaches
What do you do when a Georgia peach truck comes to town and you come home with 20 pounds of fresh peaches?
You make everything peachy, of course!
At first, 20 pounds sounded like a lot—even for someone who absolutely loves peaches. But once I started slicing, blending, muddling and baking, I realized there are so many delicious ways to use fresh peaches.
I turned my peach haul into everything from sticky chicken wings and fresh summer appetizers to frozen cocktails and an easy peach dessert.
Whether you picked up a large box of peaches from a fruit truck, visited your local farmers market or found perfectly ripe peaches at the grocery store, these recipes will help you make the most of peach season.

Fresh Peach Recipes
This collection includes sweet, savory and refreshing ways to use fresh peaches.
This growing collection includes savory appetizers, refreshing peach cocktails, easy desserts and more delicious ways to use fresh peaches.
There is something here for summer cookouts, brunch, cocktail hour or a relaxing evening on the patio.

Savory Peach Recipes
Peaches are often used in desserts, but they are also delicious in savory recipes.
Their natural sweetness pairs beautifully with spicy peppers, fresh herbs, salty cheese and tangy ingredients.
Spicy Peach Honey Wings
These Spicy Peach Honey Wings are sticky, sweet, savory and just spicy enough to keep you reaching for another one.
The peach honey glaze gives traditional chicken wings a fresh summer twist. They are perfect for backyard cookouts, casual parties or game-day gatherings.

Fresh Peach Salsa
Fresh Peach Salsa is one of the easiest ways to use several ripe peaches.
The combination of juicy peaches, fresh vegetables, herbs and a little heat creates a salsa that is sweet, tangy and slightly spicy.
Serve it with tortilla chips, spoon it over tacos or use it as a fresh topping for grilled chicken or fish.

Peach Bruschetta
Peach Bruschetta is a fresh summer appetizer made with ripe peaches, cherry tomatoes, basil and salty feta cheese.
The peach mixture is served over crisp, garlicky crostini for the perfect combination of sweet, savory and crunchy.
This would be a beautiful appetizer for brunch, a summer dinner party or a casual evening with friends.

Fresh Peach Cocktails
It would be impossible for me to bring home 20 pounds of peaches without using at least a few of them for cocktail hour!
Fresh peaches add natural sweetness, beautiful color and incredible flavor to summer drinks.
From frozen rum cocktails to bubbly Bellinis, there is a peach cocktail here for almost every occasion.
Frozen Peach Daiquiri
This Frozen Peach Daiquiri is cold, frosty and perfect for a hot summer afternoon.
Peaches, white rum, lime juice and simple syrup are blended with ice to create an easy frozen cocktail.
Using frozen peaches gives the drink a thick, slushy texture without watering down the peach flavor.

Bourbon Peach Smash
The Bourbon Peach Smash feels like the perfect cocktail for sipping on the porch during a slow summer evening.
Fresh peaches are combined with bourbon, lemon juice, mint and brown sugar for a drink that is fruity, refreshing and full of Southern flavor.
The bourbon’s caramel and vanilla notes pair beautifully with sweet, ripe peaches.

Peach Bellini
A Peach Bellini is an elegant cocktail that is surprisingly easy to make.
Fresh peach puree is combined with chilled Prosecco and an optional splash of peach liqueur.
The result is light, bubbly and perfect for brunch, bridal showers or summer celebrations.

Peach Margarita
This Fresh Peach Margarita combines ripe peaches with tequila, orange liqueur and fresh lime juice.
The peaches give the drink a sweet, fruity flavor, while the lime provides the tartness every good margarita needs.
Serve it over ice with a fresh peach slice for a colorful summer cocktail.

Peach Mojito
The Peach Mojito might be one of my favorite ways to use fresh peaches.
It combines muddled peaches, white rum, fresh mint, lime and bubbly club soda.
The mint and lime balance the sweetness of the peaches, while the club soda keeps the drink light and refreshing.

Easy Peach Dessert
After making appetizers, wings and cocktails, I still needed to turn a few peaches into dessert.
Peach Galette
This Peach Galette is my easy answer to homemade peach pie.
Fresh peaches are arranged over pastry dough and baked until the fruit is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
A galette is supposed to look rustic, so there is no need to worry about creating a perfect pie crust.
Serve it warm or at room temperature with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

How to Tell When Peaches Are Ripe
The best peach recipes begin with ripe, flavorful fruit.
Look for peaches that smell sweet and fragrant near the stem. They should feel slightly soft when gently pressed, but they should not be mushy or bruised.
If your peaches are still firm, place them inside a paper bag and leave them on the counter for a day or two.
Check them frequently because peaches can go from firm to very ripe quickly.
Once the peaches are ripe, transfer them to the refrigerator to slow down the ripening process until you are ready to use them.
Can You Freeze Fresh Peaches?
Freezing peaches is a great way to preserve them when you have more than you can use.
Peel and slice the peaches, then arrange them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Freeze the slices until firm, then transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or airtight container.
Freezing the peaches individually first helps prevent them from sticking together in one large block.
Frozen peaches are especially useful for:
- Frozen daiquiris
- Margaritas
- Bellinis
- Smoothies
- Galettes
- Cobblers
- Peach sauces
Which Peach Recipe Should You Make First?
For a summer cookout, start with the Spicy Peach Honey Wings or Fresh Peach Salsa.
For brunch, serve the Peach Bruschetta with a bubbly Peach Bellini.
When it is simply too hot to cook, blend a Frozen Peach Daiquiri or mix a refreshing Peach Mojito.
And when you need an easy dessert, the rustic Peach Galette is much simpler than baking a traditional pie.
