Peach Martini

Sharing is caring!

I’m having so much fun this summer making everything all about peaches. I mean, why not? There’s no more delicious fruit than a juicy peach on a hot summer day, and my new favorite way to enjoy one is definitely this Peach Martini.

This cocktail is so darn yummy. There was nothing better than putting my feet up on a hot Sunday evening and sipping this beautiful, ice-cold peach martini on the patio. It’s fresh, fruity, a little tart from the lemon, and absolutely brimming with peach flavor.

Why You’ll Love This Peach Martini

The thing I love most about this martini is that it actually tastes like fresh peaches. We’re not relying on an overly sweet mixer to give us peach flavor.

There are two things that make it especially good: homemade peach puree made with gorgeous fresh peaches and a good peach liqueur.

The fresh peach puree gives the drink that beautiful color and juicy, almost velvety peach flavor. Then the peach liqueur gives it another layer without overpowering everything else.

Add some good vodka, fresh lemon juice, and just a little agave, and you have one seriously delicious summer cocktail.

And yes, you’re going to want every last drop.

Ingredients You’ll Need

This martini is simple enough to make in just a few minutes once your peach puree is ready.

  • Vodka: I used Tito’s, but use your favorite good-quality vodka.
  • Peach liqueur: I used Montbisou Peach Liqueur. It was gifted to me—lucky girl, because it is quite pricey! There are more affordable peach liqueurs you can use.
  • Fresh peach puree: This is where so much of that wonderful fresh peach flavor comes from.
  • Fresh lemon juice: Peach and lemon are so good together, and the lemon keeps the cocktail bright.
  • Agave: Just a little rounds everything out.
  • Sugar: Optional, but I love a partial sugar rim.
  • Fresh peach slices: For the prettiest and easiest garnish.

One thing I really do recommend is investing in a bottle of peach liqueur if you plan on making peach cocktails this summer.

So many recipes use peach schnapps, but I’m just not a fan. Blah! Schnapps can be sickeningly sweet, and I think a good peach liqueur gives you a much nicer cocktail.

Make the Fresh Peach Puree

This little peach puree is so simple, but it makes such a difference.

Just add about half of a fresh peach to a blender with a hefty squeeze of lemon, a heaping teaspoon of sugar, and a little water. Blend everything until smooth.

That’s it!

You’ll end up with a fresh puree that is absolutely brimming with peach flavor and can amp up just about any peach cocktail you make.

Depending on the size of your peach and how much puree you use, one batch should give you enough for about two to four cocktails.

If it seems too thick after blending, add a tiny splash more water until it reaches a pourable consistency.

How to Make a Peach Martini

Once the puree is made, the rest takes about five minutes.

First, prepare your martini glass. I like to sugar only half of the rim. That way, you can choose whether you want a sugary sip or not.

Fill a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice and add:

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce peach liqueur
  • 2 ounces fresh peach puree
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon agave

Shake it really well for at least 20 seconds. You want this martini nice and cold.

Pour it into your chilled martini glass and garnish with a beautiful slice of fresh peach.

That Big Craft Ice Cube

Now, I know some of you martini purists are going to give me a hard time for putting a big ole ice cube in my martini!

In my defense, I like things that taste good, and when it’s 92 degrees outside, an ice-cold martini is what the doctor ordered. So that’s what we’re doing!

I used a large round craft ice cube with edible flowers frozen right inside. I grow edible flowers and used nasturtiums along with blue borage, and the cubes turned out absolutely beautiful.

A large craft cube also melts much more slowly than a handful of small ice cubes. It keeps that Peach Martini cold all the way to the very last drop without quickly watering it down.

And it just looks gorgeous.

Tips for the Best Peach Martini

Fresh, ripe peaches really do make this cocktail special. If your peach is juicy and flavorful enough that you want to eat it over the sink, it’s probably going to make a pretty wonderful martini too.

Chill your glass before pouring the cocktail so everything stays nice and frosty.

And don’t skip the fresh lemon juice. It cuts through the sweetness of the peach and gives the cocktail the brightness it needs.

You can also adjust the agave depending on your peaches. Really ripe summer peaches may need very little added sweetness.

As for that sugar rim, I’m still voting for half a rim. You get the pretty sparkle and the option of a sweeter sip without committing the entire cocktail to it.

When to Serve It

This is such a fun drink for summer entertaining, especially during peach season.

Make one for happy hour on the patio, girls’ night, a summer dinner party, brunch, or one of those lazy Sunday evenings when the only thing on the schedule is putting your feet up.

It would also be beautiful for a summer bridal shower or garden party, especially with the edible flower ice cubes.

Honestly, though, you don’t need an occasion. A basket of ripe peaches sitting on the counter is reason enough.

Final Thoughts

This Peach Martini has quickly become one of my favorite summer drinks.

Between the fresh peach puree, good peach liqueur, bright squeeze of lemon, and that icy cold finish, it’s just too good.

As a matter of fact, I would probably go ahead and double the recipe because two of these are much better than one!

Happy sipping this summer!
