Sharing is caring!

Everyone loves a Margarita—especially a fruity one! Fruit-flavored margaritas are tasty, yummy, and something we all crave when the weather starts to warm. Well, this margarita hits all the bases—where fruity meets creamy coconut—and sends this drink to a whole different level!

Everyone has had a Strawberry Margarita, but have you ever had a Strawberry Coconut version?! The coconut gives this incredible drink a tropical flair that is just delicious and craveable—and the perfect start to a perfect holiday!

Not Your Average Margarita

There’s a couple of steps to making this drink that just take minutes, but they totally set it apart from using store-bought flavors. The secret? A homemade Strawberry Coconut Simple Syrup and freshly squeezed lime juice. These small touches take this cocktail from good to unforgettable.

Grab your shaker! Here’s how to craft this cocktail…

Make the Strawberry Coconut Simple Syrup

Simple syrups are the easiest thing to make and are definitely worth the small effort it takes. For this one, I substituted regular water with organic coconut water—and it’s super delish!

If you’ve never made a simple syrup, it’s just like it says—super simple. It’s a combo of equal parts sugar to water and a cup or two of fruit or berries.

Here’s how to do it:

  • Combine ½ cup sugar, ½ cup organic coconut water, and ½ pint fresh sliced strawberries in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Strain the berries through a fine mesh sieve and cool the syrup.

Make this in advance and keep it in the fridge so it’s ready when margarita cravings hit!

Squeeze Your Own Lime Juice

Don’t skip the fresh lime juice. It really makes a difference in the balance of flavors.

You’ll need 2 ounces, which is usually about 2 limes.

Pro Tip: Roll the limes aggressively back and forth on the counter before juicing—this helps release more juice!

Time to Shake It Up

The rest is super easy. You’ll just need:

  • Tequila Blanco
  • Cointreau
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Strawberry Coconut Simple Syrup
  • Creme de Coconut (like Coco Lopez)

Add everything to an ice-filled shaker and shake it aggressively. This ensures the cream of coconut blends smoothly with the syrup and citrus.

Pour and Serve

Pour your shaken cocktail over a large ice-filled glass. This recipe can make two smaller drinks—but let’s be honest, one big one is way more fun!

Optional (But Adorable) Easter Garnish

Want to take this drink to holiday levels of cute? If you’re serving this cocktail for Easter, try this festive garnish idea!

I found egg-shaped pink marshmallows that look just like bunny ears. All you do is cut them in half, add a dab of marshmallow fluff in the center, and sprinkle with pink sugar.

Here’s the step-by-step:

  • Use marshmallow fluff to line the rim of your glass.
  • Dip the rim in coconut flakes.
  • Cut a marshmallow in half (or use egg-shaped ones), and make a small slit so they can hang on the glass.
  • Add pink sanding sugar for sparkle and fun.

Now you’ve got the cutest Easter cocktail ever!

Perfect for Any Summer Gathering

Don’t let this be only a holiday drink! This Strawberry Coconut Margarita will be a hit all summer long. You don’t need to serve tacos to pour this margarita—it’s fruity, fabulous, and perfect for pool parties, brunches, or any warm-weather gathering.

How excited would your guests be when you hand them this marvelous pink bunny cocktail on Easter—or anytime?

Cheers to Sunny Sips

This Strawberry Coconut Margarita is fruity, tropical, and totally irresistible. Whether you’re celebrating Easter, kicking off summer, or just want something refreshing and fun, this cocktail checks every box. With homemade syrup, fresh juice, and a little creative garnish—it’s a showstopper in a glass.
