Especially these special End of the Rainbow Jello Shots for St. Patrick’s Day!
They are so darn cute, and a platter of these will certainly be the highlight of the party.
Ready to impress your guests? Follow these simple steps to make these festive shots!

How to Make Rainbow Jello Shots
Making jello shots is easy—all you do is swap vodka for the cold water in the recipe on the box. For a 3 oz box of Jello, you typically use 1 cup of boiling water.
Instead of adding 1 cup of cold water, I use just ¾ cup of vodka. Cutting back a little does two things:
- They aren’t too strong, making them more enjoyable.
- They set up better and are easier to serve and eat as a shot!

For St. Patrick’s Day, we use green Jello, of course! One 3 oz box makes about 12 shots, and they need at least three hours in the fridge to fully set.
It’s best to make them the night before your party so they’re ready to go.

Turning Jello Shots Into a Rainbow
To create the rainbow effect, I use Air Head Sour Rainbow Strips. I found them at Target, but they are also available on Amazon. Once the jello has set, follow these steps:
- Cut a small slit on either side of the jello shot using a butter knife.
- Insert the rainbow candy strip into the slits to form an arch.
- Add a small poof of whipped cream on one side to look like a cloud.
- Sprinkle a few gold nonpareils on top of the whipped cream to resemble gold at the end of the rainbow.
How cute is that?!

A Festive Treat for Everyone
These End of the Rainbow Jello Shots will be the hit of the party! But if you’re staying in with the kids this St. Patrick’s Day, you can easily make these without alcohol for a fun and festive dessert.
Whether you’re celebrating with friends or spending the day with your favorite little leprechauns, these rainbow jello shots are sure to bring some extra cheer to your St. Patrick’s Day. As the saying goes… there’s always room for Jello!
