Cucumber Martini

Sharing is caring!

Cocktails made with cucumbers have an air of sophistication. Kind of like a spa experience in a glass. This Cucumber Martini delivers on both visual and taste as it makes an impressive cocktail that is incredibly refreshing and delicious!

This Cucumber Martini would be lovely as an aperitif on Easter or a Spring Brunch or served to Mom on Mother’s Day. This green martini would also be perfect on St Patty’s day!

My favorite is mixing this up on a Summer or Spring Day for my girlfriends on the patio!

Why You’ll Love This Cucumber Martini

There’s something undeniably refined about a Cucumber Martini. It’s light, crisp, and beautifully balanced — the perfect blend of fresh cucumber juice, smooth vodka, floral elderflower liqueur, and bright lemon juice.

The addition of St. Germain Elderflower Liquor gives this cocktail a slightly sweet and floral note which pair nicely with the fresh cucumber. The little dollop of agave nectar or simple syrup gives it the finishing touch of sweetness that it needs.

It’s refreshing without being overly sweet, classic yet modern, and stunning enough to serve for any special gathering.

The Secret to a Beautiful Presentation

Part of its elegance is the presentation. So prior to mixing this beauty you want to garnish your martini glass.

I used a mandolin to make long cucumber slices and lined the inside of the glass. It looks beautiful and gives it a bit of sophistication. You can certainly just garnish with a slice of cucumber as well.

I choose to use English cucumbers as there are less seeds and you can lightly peel to make a prettier garnish. The thin, translucent slices create that signature “spa-like” feel that makes this Cucumber Martini so eye-catching.

How to Make Fresh Cucumber Juice

Fresh juice is what truly sets this cocktail apart.

I then used a bullet blender with the leftover cucumber from the garnish and an additional cucumber. Puree in the blender until smooth then pour through a fine meshed sieve to extract the pulp. You should get about a cup of juice which will make about four martinis.

Taking the extra step to strain the juice ensures a smooth, vibrant green liquid that blends seamlessly into your martini.

Shake It Up Like a Pro

Now it’s time to shake it up. Fill your cocktail shaker with good quality vodka, a shot of St. Germaine Elderflower liquor, cucumber juice, the juice from half a lemon and a squeeze of agave nectar. Shake vigorously and pour into your garnished glass.

Shaking for a full 20 seconds chills the cocktail perfectly and creates that crisp, refreshing finish that defines a great Cucumber Martini.

Perfect Pairings for a Cucumber Martini

This bright and refreshing martini would be excellent as an accompaniment to light hors d’oeuvres such as skewered shrimp, oysters on crostinis or a mushroom or tomato galette!

Because it’s so fresh and clean, it complements delicate flavors without overpowering them — making it ideal for brunch spreads, spring gatherings, and warm summer evenings on the patio.

Conclusion

This Cucumber Martini certainly has the classic and traditional air of a martini while still delivering that punch with a refreshing and beautiful twist.

Not only is the cocktail stunning to look at, it is incredibly delicious, classy, and cool.

Whether you’re hosting brunch, celebrating Mother’s Day, or simply enjoying a sunny afternoon with friends, this Cucumber Martini is the perfect sip. Enjoy!
