Hugo Spritz

Sharing is caring!

It’s almost Mother’s Day and the weather is getting warmer, and with that comes the desire for lighter cocktails such as this one! The Hugo Spritz is a delightfully refreshing cocktail that is neither bitter nor sweet.

The introduction of St. Germain liqueur gives it just a tad of sweetness, which pairs so nicely with the crisp Prosecco and the splash of Club Soda.

Set up your bar station! Here are the mixing instructions…

A Light and Lovely Springtime Cocktail

Customizable to Your Taste

There are several variations of the Hugo Spritz to suit your preferences:

  • Prefer it sweeter? Add a little extra St. Germain or swap Club Soda for Lemon Lime soda.
  • Want it lighter? Stick with 1 part St. Germain to 4 parts Prosecco and just a splash of Club Soda.

This cocktail is flexible and easy to adjust depending on your sweetness level and the occasion.

The Hugo Spritz is such a nice cocktail to serve on Mother’s Day or any day! It’s like springtime in a bottle. Elderflower liqueur is sweet, floral, and herbal and pairs so nicely with the dry Prosecco.

The Secret to Making it So Refreshing

The key to making this drink so refreshing is the addition of fresh mint.

When using mint, you want to rub it between your fingers or slap it against your palm before dropping it into the glass.

This expresses the mint oil and gives it that subtle mint flavor.

You also garnish this with a lemon wheel, which is essential to the flavor of the drink!

A Touch of Elegance from St. Germain

Each little bottle of St. Germain contains up to 1,000 elderflowers that are hand-picked once a year in late spring when their flavor and aroma are the strongest.

So what could be a better cocktail to serve Mom than a special St. Germain cocktail like the Hugo Spritz?

The Perfect Sip for a Special Day

I hope this cocktail helps you plan a special and delightful day for Mom, sister, aunt, daughter, or just yourself!

Sit back, put your feet up, and sip on a Hugo Spritz while imagining yourself running through the elderflowers in the Parisian countryside.

Oooh La La — what a perfect day!
