Sizzling Summertime Brat Bites
Nothing says Summertime more than a juicy Bratwurst sizzling on the grill! Everyone loves a brat so why not make them as an appetizer for your next party?! These juicy Brat Bites are perfect for your next summer get-together because not only are they delicious but they are easy and will surely be a hit at your next party.
The thing I love about making Brats is that they are quick and easy. I always precook my bratwurst in a pan on the stove with a beer!
It gives them that classic flavor plus by boiling them for a few minutes you then only need to grill them for a few minutes to get them nice and brown.
Let’s dive into the simple steps to create these mouthwatering Brat Bites for your next gathering!
Preparing the Bratwurst
Bratwurst can come in many different flavors. I usually choose just a plain Brat or a Cheddar Brat. Put them in a pan and cover them with a can of beer.
You may need to add a little water so that they are totally submerged.
After the Brats cook for about 10 minutes you add your onions and green peppers and continue to cook for another 10 minutes.
Cutting the Vegetables
For this recipe, I cut the onions and green peppers in one-inch squares so that they would fit on top of the Brat and be a perfect little bite!
By adding them to the cooking brats they add flavor and are ready to go right from the pan when you’re ready to assemble your bites.
Grilling the Bratwurst
Now it’s time to heat up that grill! Once it’s smoking hot you want to brown your sausages for about 5-10 minutes. They are already cooked through so you’re really just browning them.
Assembling the Brat Bites
This is such a simple and yummy appetizer! All you have to do now is cut them into bite-size pieces and add a pepper and a slice of onion then secure them with a toothpick and they are ready to party!
Special Mustard Sauce
I serve mine with a special mustard sauce that’s just Yellow Mustard, a generous squeeze of Sriracha, and a touch of honey! Yummmm… the perfect dip for these juicy little bites of goodness.
So fire up your grill this weekend and call over the neighbors and friends and serve up these sizzling sausages! Brat Bites are great with any summertime beverage!
