Easy Salsa Recipes for Parties, Summer & More

Sharing is caring!

There is nothing better than a fresh, flavorful salsa when you need an easy appetizer for a party, cookout, or casual get-together. And while a classic tomato salsa is always a favorite, there are so many fun ways to change things up with fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, and unexpected flavors.

These easy salsa recipes range from a classic garden-fresh version to sweet and spicy fruit salsas and even Greek- and Asian-inspired recipes. Serve them with chips, pita, crackers, or spoon them over grilled chicken, fish, tacos, and more.

Whether you’re entertaining for Cinco de Mayo, planning a summer cookout, or simply looking for a new appetizer to try, there is something here for everyone.

Strawberry Mango Salsa

Strawberry Mango Salsa is one of those appetizers that just looks like summer in a bowl.

Fresh strawberries and mango are combined with avocado, jalapeño, red onion, cilantro, lime, and spices for the perfect combination of sweet, fresh, and slightly spicy flavors.

Serve it simply with tortilla chips, or spoon it over fish, chicken, or tacos for an easy way to brighten up dinner.

This is a great salsa for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, summer cookouts, pool parties, or anytime fresh fruit is at its best.

Garden Fresh Salsa

If you have fresh tomatoes coming out of the garden faster than you can use them, this Garden Fresh Salsa is the answer.

Ripe tomatoes, onion, garlic, cilantro, fresh lime, peppers, and spices come together for a homemade salsa that tastes fresh and vibrant without requiring hours in the kitchen. A food processor makes it especially quick to prepare.

Serve it with tortilla chips, spoon it over eggs, or use it to top tacos, quesadillas, grilled chicken, fish, or steak.

It is one of those recipes you’ll find yourself making over and over throughout tomato season.

Peach Salsa

When fresh peaches are sweet and juicy, you absolutely have to make this Peach Salsa.

Fruit salsa is such a fun way to take advantage of seasonal produce, and peaches bring just the right amount of natural sweetness to a savory appetizer.

Serve Peach Salsa with tortilla chips for an easy summer appetizer or use it as a fresh topping for grilled chicken, fish, shrimp, or tacos.

This is one I especially love for summer entertaining because it feels a little different without being complicated.

Greek Salsa

If you love Mediterranean flavors, this Greek Salsa is a must-try.

Fresh tomatoes and cucumber are mixed with olives, feta cheese, red onion, garlic, lemon, oregano, olive oil, and just a little heat. The result is fresh, tangy, salty, herby, and packed with flavor.

Instead of traditional tortilla chips, try serving this one with warm pita bread, pita chips, or crackers.

It is also delicious spooned over grilled chicken, fish, shrimp, or vegetables, making it just as useful for dinner as it is for entertaining.

Asian Salsa

For something completely different, try this Asian Salsa.

This fresh salsa combines tomatoes and cucumber with kimchi, ginger, garlic, lime, soy sauce, and sesame oil for a crunchy, savory salsa with plenty of bold flavor.

Serve it with sesame crackers as an appetizer or spoon it over fish or chicken for an easy dinner.

It is a great example of how salsa doesn’t always have to mean tomatoes, cilantro, and tortilla chips. Once you start experimenting with different flavor profiles, the possibilities are endless.

What to Serve With Salsa

One of the best things about homemade salsa is how versatile it is. Of course, tortilla chips are always an easy choice, but don’t stop there.

Try serving your salsa with pita chips, crackers, crostini, or fresh vegetables. Fruit salsa is especially delicious with grilled chicken, shrimp, or fish, while more savory salsas can completely transform tacos, quesadillas, eggs, or grilled meats.

For a party, you could even make two or three different salsa recipes and create an easy salsa bar with several kinds of chips and dippers.

Which Salsa Should You Make First?

If you’re craving a traditional homemade salsa, start with the Garden Fresh Salsa.

For something fruity and colorful, try the Strawberry Mango Salsa or Peach Salsa.

If you want something a little unexpected, the Greek Salsa and Asian Salsa both bring completely different flavors to the table.

The best part is that all five are easy enough for casual snacking but pretty and flavorful enough to serve when you’re entertaining.
