Chili in a Cornbread Cup

Sharing is caring!

One of the first things I love to make when the temperature drops is a warm, comforting pot of chili! In my home, it’s also a cherished Halloween tradition. We start a big batch of chili early in the morning, so it’s ready to warm up the little goblins after trick-or-treating. Though my children are grown, this tradition continues—especially during football season, when chili becomes a staple on game day.

But for me, chili is incomplete without cornbread! That’s why I’ve come up with the perfect combo for a fun appetizer or an easy, finger-food option: Chili in a Cornbread Cup! With the help of Pillsbury instant cornbread dough, you can whip up these super quick and easy cups in no time.

They’re the perfect bite-sized treat to serve at a Halloween party, football game, or even a casual family dinner.

So, without further ado, here’s how to create these adorable Chili in a Cornbread Cups for your next event!

Making the Cornbread Cups

To achieve the cup shape, you’ll need a bread-like dough, such as Pillsbury Cornbread Swirls.

Simply roll out the dough and cut circles using a round mason jar or cookie cutter. Once you’ve formed the rounds, gently place them into a cupcake tin to create the cup shape.

Pro Tip:

When the cornbread is halfway through baking, use a shot glass to push the middle down, ensuring that the cups keep their shape. As they bake, the dough tends to puff up, but this little trick will help them stay perfect for filling.

In just 15 minutes, your cornbread cups will be ready to fill with your delicious chili!

Filling and Serving

Once your cornbread cups are baked to golden perfection, it’s time to fill them with your favorite chili. These cups are versatile and can easily be turned into a crowd-pleasing appetizer by offering a variety of toppings, such as:

  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Diced onions
  • Chopped jalapeños (for a spicy kick!)

Set up a chili bar with all the fixings so your guests can customize their cups, or top them yourself and serve. Whether it’s for Halloween, a football party, or just a cozy Sunday dinner, these chili-filled cups will be a hit!

Perfect for Any Occasion

You can make a chili bar for your next football party or serve these Chili in a Cornbread Cups for Halloween alongside other party treats, like a pumpkin cheeseball with veggies.

They’re easy to prepare, fun to eat, and the perfect addition to any gathering.

Whether you’re pleasing family, friends, or little goblins, these delicious cups are sure to make everyone smile.

Conclusion

Chili in a Cornbread Cup is the perfect way to combine two comfort food classics into one adorable, bite-sized treat. With minimal effort and endless topping possibilities, this recipe is great for Halloween, football games, or any cozy fall gathering.

Enjoy these warm, flavorful bites, and no matter when you serve them, you’re bound to please your guests!
