Aperol Mimosa with Frozen Orange Roses
Okay, so you want to take champagne to a whole new level? This is the way to go! The Orange Aperol Mimosa!!
Not only is this a beautiful presentation it is so delicious and packs a little additional punch to the normal Mimosa. Girls, this is not Your Mother’s Mimosa!!!
So if you haven’t added Aperol to your agenda you definitely need to make this change. Not only is it super trendy it is also delicious.
Why Aperol?
The Italians have a leg up on us as usual and have been enjoying this wonderful Aperitif for years. So I just thought why not just add a little bit of Aperol to the normal orange juice Mimosa to step it up a bit and boy does it make an incredibly yummy difference.
The Orange Roses
Now it’s Mother’s Day, and it’s nice to do something a little special so I made these beautiful but simple orange juice roses.
These are so easy to make but first you need to get the round silicone molds.
So plan ahead and get those now because it’s a super cool addition to this cocktail and will totally impress Mom on her special day!
Ingredients for Orange Roses:
- 1 Orange, sliced in half then into half-moon shapes
- 1 TB Orange Juice (enough to cover the orange slices and fill the round cube maker)
Instructions for Making Orange Roses:
- To assemble the rose you will cut your Orange in half down the middle not stem to stem.
- You then slice thin half-moon slices and place them like petals of a rose inside the round ice cube tray.
- Put the top on each tray and slowly pour orange juice through the hole then freeze for 24 hours.
- The Orange Juice will settle to the bottom leaving the top of the orange exposed to look like a rose in a half-frozen cube of juice.
Aperol Mimosa Cocktail
Not only are the roses beautiful they are frozen in Orange Juice. So when the Orange Juice slowly melts it enhances the flavor of your Mimosa with a subtle taste of Orange Juice along with the orange flavor of Aperol and now you are basking in Mimosa heaven!
Also, these little beauties do double duty and keep your drink nice and cold! Who can ask for more in one cocktail?!
Ingredients for Aperol Mimosa:
- 3 Shots Champagne (Approx Measurements depending on your glass – just fill to top)
- 1/2 Shot Aperol (Or just a big splash)
- Frozen Orange Juice Rose
Instructions for Aperol Mimosa:
- Pour your splash of Aperol in the bottom of your glass then add a bit of champagne.
- Add an Orange Juice Rose then pour Champagne over the rose to fill the glass.
- Enjoy!
Enjoy!
You can make the orange roses now and have them ready for Mother’s Day.
The rest is simply opening your Champagne or Prosecco and adding a little Aperol, then topping it with your Orange Juice Rose, and you are ready to impress Mom, Grandma, Mother-In-Law, or maybe just yourself with this special little cocktail on this wonderful day!
Whatever you do on this day or any day that you choose to indulge in this yummy cocktail, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Cheers and Happy Mother’s Day!
