The History of Daiquiris

Daiquiris have been around since the 1940s and are one of the most well-known rum cocktails ever created. They have been a choice for greats like John F. Kennedy and Ernest Hemingway, long before bartenders started adding sweet fruits.

The addition of fruits like strawberries, peaches, mango, and of course, watermelon came later, but thank goodness for whoever thought of it!

A frozen Daiquiri on a hot summer day is simply unbeatable, especially once you try this watermelon version. It’s over-the-top delicious and just screams summer!

Why Watermelon?

Watermelon is the quintessential summer fruit.

Its high water content and natural sweetness make it perfect for cocktails.

Using freshly pureed watermelon and frozen watermelon cubes enhances the flavor and gives the drink a perfect consistency.

This extra step takes your Daiquiri from good to amazing.

How to Make a Perfect Watermelon Daiquiri

The trick to making this extra delicious is to use freshly pureed watermelon and to freeze cubes of melon. This only takes a minute to cut up, but you should freeze it for at least four hours.

The addition of the frozen cubes and a little ice gives you the perfect consistency for a nice frozen cocktail.

So, if you plan on relaxing on Saturday, cut up your watermelon on Friday and throw it in the freezer so it’s ready when you need it!
