Smoky Maple Bourbon Old Fashioned

A delicious twist on an old favorite. You add walnut bitters, liquid apple smoke, smoky maple syrup with Makers Mark bourbon. This is served in a old fashioned glass with a large smoky infused ice cube and garnished with a fat twist of orange peel for a most delicious bourbon drink.

Ingredients
  

Smoky Ice Cubes

  • 1 Tray Round or Square Silicone Ice Cube Maker
  • 2 Drops Apple Liquid Smoke added to each cube

Instructions
 

  • Make your ice cubes at least a day ahead
  • Add maple syrup, bitters, liquid smoke and water to a large mixing glass and muddle the flavors together
  • Add 5 ice cubes to the glass
  • Add 2 shots of Bourbon
  • Stir gently to mix the contents
  • Put one large ice cube in an old fashioned glass
  • Using a strainer pour the cocktail over the ice in your old fashioned glass
  • Garnish with a large twist of orange peel which you actually twist over the drink to release the oils and drop in the cocktail
