Red Devil Spicy Margarita

The Red Devil Spicy Margarita is a devilish twist on a classic margarita, featuring a hint of spice from Tajin-rimmed glasses and jalapeno peppers. Muddle half a jalapeno, mix up a classic margarita, and garnish with fiery jalapenos and devil horns for a slightly spicy treat. You can adjust the heat to your liking by adding more jalapenos.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 Red Jalapeno Peppers Two red ones to garnish and the other to muddle and slice in the drink
  • 1 Green Jalapeno Pepper
  • 2 Oz White Tequila
  • 1 Oz Triple Sec
  • 1 TB Agave Nectar
  • 1 Oz Fresh Lime Juice You will need about two limes to squeeze and garnish. Save the lime rinds to use for rimming your glass and muddling the peppers

Tajin Rim

  • 2 TB Tajin
  • 6 Drops Red Food Coloring
  • 1 Lime Rind to rim the edge of the glass

Instructions

  • Pour the Tajin on a plate and add red food coloring while incorporating the color with a fork
  • Use the left over lime rind to rim your glass then dip the edges of your margarita glass in the red Tajin
  • Squeeze some lime into the bottom of your glass
  • Add three to five slices of Jalapeno pepper and muddle in the lime with a muddler or the back of a spoon. To muddle you are just smashing the pepper into the lime which will release the spicy pepper oils.
  • Add ice to your cocktail shaker and add your tequila, triple sec, lime juice and agave nectar and shake for 15 seconds
  • Add ice to your margarita glass then pour your drink over the ice
  • Make a slice in the bottom of each red pepper and place on either side of the glass. Make sure your peppers are facing out so they look like horns.
  • Squeeze in a slice of lime and add a slice of both red and green pepper to garnish
