JoAnne's Cranberry Orange Ginger Cocktail

A little bit of Fall all wrapped up into one delicious cocktail. It's a mix of cranberry, orange liquor, vodka, fresh lime juice and ginger simple syrup. This is one cocktail you will serve over and over through out the holidays!

Equipment

  • 1 Strainer To strain ginger to make the syrup
  • 1 Pot To boil sugar and water for syrup
  • 1 Juicer To juice your lime

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Oz Unsweetened Cranberry Juice
  • 1 1/2 Oz Vodka I use Titos
  • 1/2 Oz Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • 1/2 Oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1 Oz Ginger Simple Syrup
  • 1 Lime To use have for cocktail and the other for garnish
  • 1 Splash Seltzer or Lemon-Lime Soda I prefer seltzer but if you like your drinks sweeter use the lemon lime soda

Ginger Simple Syrup

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Large Root of Ginger Sliced Thin to equal 1/2 cup

Instructions
 

Ginger Simple Syrup

  • Make your simple syrup up to one week prior
  • Boil sugar and water till dissolved
  • Add 1/2 cup sliced ginger and remove from heat
  • Cover and let seep for one hour
  • Strain out ginger and put in jar for up to one week refrigerated

Cocktail

  • Fill cocktail shaker 1/2 way with ice
  • Add all ingredients and shake for 15 seconds
  • Pour over ice in low ball glass of your choice
  • Top off with a splash of seltzer or lemon lime soda
  • Garnish with lime wheel and a few frozen cranberries
