Ginger Simple Syrup
Don’t be put put off by the simple syrup it literally just takes minutes to make and you can do this step up to one week prior.
The ginger gives it a little hidden spicy sweetness that sets this drink aside from the normal cranberry cocktails!
Simple syrups are fun and easy to make.
You can use them in sorbets as well but they really give that pop to your cocktails.

Serving Tips
- This cocktail is a versatile choice for Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, or other gatherings.
- Consider making a large batch of the cocktail the night before the event. Scale up the recipe by multiplying the ingredients by the number of guests and storing it in a pitcher. Add soda when serving individual glasses.
- For those who prefer a less sweet cocktail, omit the soda and enjoy the drink as is.
- Use unsweetened cranberry juice. That’s the fun thing about this drink is its tart but sweet at the same time so the key is to get unsweetened.
- Lime wedges or wheels can be used for garnishing, along with a few frozen cranberries to enhance the festive vibe.
- I always keep a bag of cranberries in my freezer around the holidays so I have them available to use just for this purpose. They go on sale for next to nothing so you might as well grab a couple bags to have on hand through the holidays. After all November is everything cranberry for me!
Big Batch Preparation
If you’re having a party this is incredibly perfect because the cranberry orange cocktail can easily be made into a big batch cocktail the night before. You just make the recipe times your number of guest in a big pitcher.
You would just top off each glass with soda when you’re serving.
If you really want to make your life easy you can omit the splash of soda and just serve it without!
Now you can enjoy this delicious cocktail with your friends without playing bartender all night!
- Calculate the total quantities of ingredients based on the number of guests.
- Multiply the individual ingredient amounts by the number of servings needed.
- Combine the multiplied ingredient amounts in a large pitcher.
- Refrigerate the mixture until you’re ready to serve.
- To serve, pour the cocktail into individual glasses filled with ice and top with soda, if desired.
- Garnish each glass with a lime wheel and a few frozen cranberries.
