Watermelon Mojitos

Sharing is caring!

Summertime in a glass—that’s what the Watermelon Mojito embodies!

This cocktail is the most refreshing and delicious drink I’ve ever made. Declaring it as my favorite, the Watermelon Mojito is truly the epitome of summer, all mixed up into one delightful cocktail.

So, whether it’s Memorial Day or any day, let’s get mixing and enjoy the burst of flavors this drink offers!

Why You’ll Love This Watermelon Mojito

I love this drink so much that I’m planning to plant mint in a pot just to make these all summer long!

Here’s a piece of advice: never plant mint directly in your garden unless you want everything to have a hint of mint—it will take over!

The Key Ingredients

Star Ingredients: Mint and Watermelon

The stars of this drink are undoubtedly the mint and watermelon.

Begin by pureeing a generous amount of watermelon in your blender. While some might prefer to strain the juice, I find it delicious and more flavorful unstrained—it also makes your life easier.

If you’ve never made a mojito before, you’ll need to muddle about 6-8 mint leaves in the bottom of your glass with lime juice and a bit of agave nectar. Muddling helps release all the oils from the mint leaves, enhancing the drink with wonderful mint flavors.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a fancy muddler; the back of a spoon will work just fine.

Mixing the Drink

Fill your glass with ice, add your light rum and watermelon juice, then top it off with a big, refreshing splash of club soda.

Garnish your cocktail with a small wedge of watermelon and a sprig of mint, and you’re ready to enjoy your new favorite cocktail over the Memorial Day weekend—or any weekend until the leaves start to fall!

The Watermelon Mojito is not just a drink; it’s a celebration of summer that you can easily scale up for a crowd in a big pitcher. Enjoy it by itself or with some fruit skewers!

Remember to keep the club soda on the side to top off each drink individually.

Cheers to the Watermelon Mojito—your new favorite cocktail! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and have a wonderful time sharing it with your favorite people.

Happy mixing and sipping on your delightful watermelon mojito!
