Maple Bacon Deviled Eggs
One of my favorite appetizers to make is deviled eggs. They’re easy, inexpensive, and always a sure crowd pleaser! They’re also such a blank canvas for adding fun toppings and changing up the flavors.
My newest creation is these Maple Bacon Deviled Eggs, and they are so good. They’re creamy, savory, a little sweet, and loaded with crispy maple bacon. It’s the perfect Fall twist on a classic deviled egg!

Why You’ll Love These Maple Bacon Deviled Eggs
The sweet and salty combination is what makes these so delicious. You still get that creamy, tangy filling you expect from a deviled egg, but then there’s smoky maple bacon and just enough maple syrup to give them a little sweetness.
They’re also really easy to make ahead, which is always a plus when you’re entertaining.
Maple flavor just reminds me of Fall, so these are such a good choice for your Thanksgiving table. I actually brought them to a football party the other day and they were a huge hit!
And trust me, deviled eggs always disappear fast.

Ingredients You’ll Need
The ingredients for these eggs are pretty basic, which is another reason I love them.
You’ll need:
- Eggs
- Maple flavored bacon
- Good mayonnaise like Hellmann’s
- Yellow mustard
- Dijon mustard
- Good maple syrup
- Shallot
- Salt and pepper
- Chives and paprika for garnish
If you haven’t cooked with shallots before, you’ll usually find them near the onions and garlic at the grocery store. They add just a little onion flavor without overpowering the filling.
And definitely use real maple syrup here. You only need a little, but it gives the filling that yummy sweet and savory flavor that makes these eggs different.

How to Boil the Perfect Eggs for Deviled Eggs
In order to make a good deviled egg, you need to know how to boil an egg.
This may sound silly, but there is definitely an art to it!
One of my biggest tips is to not use super fresh eggs. Fresh eggs can be much harder to peel, so I like to use eggs that have been in the refrigerator for about a week.
You also don’t want to overcook them because that’s when you can get that greenish color around the yolk.
Here’s my fool-proof way to boil eggs for deviled eggs.
Fill a deep pot with about 4 inches of water and bring it to a boil. Using a spoon, gently lower your eggs into the boiling water.
If you’re making a bunch, you may need to do two batches. You don’t want to crowd the eggs because they can bump into each other and crack.
Let them gently boil for 13 minutes.
Then take them off the heat and immediately run them under cold water until they’re cool to the touch.
Follow this and trust me, you’ll have a great hard-boiled egg!

Once the eggs are cool, peel them at the sink. I like doing this there so I can rinse off any little shards of broken eggshell.
I also always boil a couple of extra eggs when I’m making deviled eggs. I usually end up cracking at least one of the whites, plus it’s nice to have some extra yolk to add to the filling.
Slice the peeled eggs the long way and use a small spoon to gently scoop the yolks into a bowl.

Use a fork to smash the yolks until they’re finely mushed and there aren’t any large pieces left.

Make the Maple Bacon Filling
I like to bake my bacon in the oven. It crisps up evenly and stays nice and flat.
For this recipe, I baked the maple bacon at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes. Once it’s nice and crisp, drain it on a paper towel and let it cool.
Then crumble it as fine as you can.

To the mashed yolks, add your mayonnaise, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, minced shallot, salt, pepper, and about 2 teaspoons of maple syrup.
Then sprinkle in about two heaping tablespoons of the finely crumbled bacon. Save some of that bacon because you’ll definitely want it for the tops!
Mix everything together until the filling is creamy. If it seems a little dry, just add another spoonful of mayonnaise.
I like my deviled egg filling nice and creamy.
Fill and Garnish the Eggs
You can either spoon the filling into the egg whites or use a piping bag.
If you’re using a piping bag, this can be a little tricky because the bacon and shallots can get caught in the tip. Make sure you use a tip with a big circular opening so everything can pass through easily.

Pipe or spoon an even amount of filling into each egg.
Then comes the fun part—the toppings!
Sprinkle the eggs with the remaining maple bacon, very finely chopped chives, and a little paprika.
Finish everything off with a light drizzle of maple syrup.
That’s it!

Make Them Ahead
Another wonderful thing about this appetizer is that you can make the eggs the night before.
Just arrange them on your serving platter and cover them well with plastic wrap. Keep them chilled in the refrigerator and put them out right before your guests arrive.
Anything I can get done the night before a party is a win in my book!
I would wait to add the final maple syrup drizzle until close to serving so the eggs still look fresh and pretty.

Perfect for Fall Entertaining
These eggs would be delicious for so many Fall get-togethers.
They’re perfect for Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, football parties, game day, tailgating, or even just cocktails and appetizers with friends.
I love the maple flavor for this time of year, and the crispy bacon makes them feel just a little more special than a traditional deviled egg without making the recipe complicated.
And because they’re easy to pick up and eat, they’re perfect party food.
