Store bought biscuits stuffed with ham, broccoli, cheese and green onions . Easily can be substituted with shrimp, turkey, or vegetarian. This app is shaped in a Christmas Tree or a Wreath and is the highlight of your appetizer table.
1HeadBroccoliCleaned thoroughly-steamed and cut into bite size florets
1Green Pepper or JalapenoCut into small pieces
1Red Pepper Cut into small pieces
1Yellow PepperCut to look like a star for top of tree
18 ozBag of Finely Shredded Colby Jack CheeseCan use Cheddar or any cheese of your choice
3Green OnionsSliced Thin
2Large SlicesHamDiced finely
1EggAdd a tiny bit of milk and whisk together with egg to glaze the rolls when done
Instructions
Chop Peppers and set aside
Slice Green Onions
Finely Dice Ham
Steam Broccoli Florets or add 1 cup water and microwave for 8 minutes
Drain Broccoli and Chop Fine
Add all above ingredients besides the peppers to a medium size bowl and add the bag of Shredded Cheese
Open your biscuits and divide each biscuit in half so that you have 32 halves
Place biscuits on a parchment lined baking pan which is sprayed lightly with cooking oil spray
Put about a 1/2 tsp of Dijon Mustard in the center of each biscuit and spread
Add approx 1 Heaping TB of the mixture to each biscuit and pinch to close and shape in a ball
Add each ball to the pan seam side down starting at the top - place one then each line down add an additional ball so you are forming a Christmas Tree
Use all your balls but two and put those on the bottom to look like the stem of the tree
Brush all the balls with egg wash and sprinkle your peppers over the tree
Cut your yellow pepper to look like a star and place on the top of the tree - half way through baking check to make sure the star points have not moved and just put them carefully back in place if need be
Bake 375 for 25 minutes
