Beer Cheese Dip

The taste of traditional Beer Cheese made into a dip that can be enjoyed with crackers, veggies or Hot Pretzels

Equipment

  • 1 Cheese Grater
  • 1 Med Sauce Pan

Ingredients
  

  • 3 TB Butter
  • 3 TB Flour
  • 2 TB Finely Minced Onion
  • 3/4 Cup Half & Half
  • 2/3 Cup Beer Lager but not Dark Beer
  • 1 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Heaping Tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 10 Oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese Shredded About 2 1/2 Cups

Instructions
 

  • Melt Butter in Med Sauce Pan and add minced onion to cook for 2 minutes
  • Add Flour and Whisk for 1 minute
  • Add Half & Half in a slow steady stream while whisking and cook 1 minute
  • Add each remaining ingredient one at a time while whisking
  • Remove from heat and put in serving bowl
  • Dip will thicken as it cools
  • Serve with Hot Pretzels or an array of breads, crackers or celery
