Apple Roses in Puff Pastry
Beautiful red apples sliced thin and rolled up to look like a scrumptious red rose. These roses are baked in a buttery puff pastry lined with apricot jam to make one delicious little rose pie!

2 Large Red Apples 1/2 Juice Lemon 1/4 Cup Sugar 1 Sheet Puff Pastry 1/4 Cup Apricot Jam 3 TB Cinnamon Sugar 1 TB Cinnamon with 3TB Sugar 1/4 Cup Good Maple Syrup
Cut your apples from top to bottom and remove the core with a spoon
Slice apples very thin and submerge in water with juice from half a lemon and 1/4 cup of sugar. Microwave for 3 minutes
Drain apples and mix with 3 TB cinnamon sugar
Roll out puff pastry on floured surface to extend a bit and remove the creases
Cut in 6 strips and brush with apricot jam that has been warmed for 20 seconds in the microwave
Line the strips with overlapping apple slices that are halfway hanging over the edges about 1/4 of an inch
Pull up the bottom half of each strip of pastry to cover the apples and roll up into roses
Place in greased muffin tins and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes
Brush with maple syrup the last 5 minutes of baking
Remove promptly from the tins and let cool on a rack
