Apple Roses in Puff Pastry

Beautiful red apples sliced thin and rolled up to look like a scrumptious red rose. These roses are baked in a buttery puff pastry lined with apricot jam to make one delicious little rose pie!

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Microwave to pre-cook your apples

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Large Red Apples
  • 1/2 Juice Lemon
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Sheet Puff Pastry
  • 1/4 Cup Apricot Jam
  • 3 TB Cinnamon Sugar 1 TB Cinnamon with 3TB Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Good Maple Syrup

Instructions
 

  • Cut your apples from top to bottom and remove the core with a spoon
  • Slice apples very thin and submerge in water with juice from half a lemon and 1/4 cup of sugar. Microwave for 3 minutes
  • Drain apples and mix with 3 TB cinnamon sugar
  • Roll out puff pastry on floured surface to extend a bit and remove the creases
  • Cut in 6 strips and brush with apricot jam that has been warmed for 20 seconds in the microwave
  • Line the strips with overlapping apple slices that are halfway hanging over the edges about 1/4 of an inch
  • Pull up the bottom half of each strip of pastry to cover the apples and roll up into roses
  • Place in greased muffin tins and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes
  • Brush with maple syrup the last 5 minutes of baking
  • Remove promptly from the tins and let cool on a rack
